I was thinking about this for a while. I think we should sticky a post for favorite routes or basic routes. Some of us are new at planning rides and if we had some GPX or google map files that people would be happy to post of their favorite routes it would be a good start. I know some of us have some secret roads that they don`t want to share with everyone. That is fine. I know it took a lot of time riding and searching maps to find them. At least if we have a basic idea of lets say some catskills routes that we could manipulate to our own, it would be greatly appreciated. I know Desmo has some listed but if we could get it in GPX, Google Maps or some other format to make it easy to change it would be better. Grouprider.com has some too.

I`ll start.

Here are is my Favorite route as of now on LI. (a lot of credit to Glantern for showing me some of them)

It really doesn`t start until placemark 7 [moto]

Hint - send a PM to Statler - ask him if he can create a "Favorite Route" thread for this forum.

Ask nicely, and he'll take care of it.

I think some people see a route sticky as being too public and people might not want to share.  Maybe as an alternative people can ask for routes in particular areas they want to ride and get some input from the board?

I thought this would be a touchy subject for some.  I figured it would be worth a shot.

Well what if we made it members only and we masked the title as "NY White pages" lol

Another idea is if people want to make it NYMMC exclusive just make a google maps account and pass around the password to NYMMCers.  This way we can all look and contribute without it become too public.

Personally I don't have any routes, I just remember certain roads that are exceptional (about 10 that I'm sure most know about anyway).  Usually I just check google maps and see whats in that area.

Not a bad idea.
