The Monstermash exhaust sounds and looks pretty good to me and sure must be cheap except for the header.
I would have thought it would be much louder with the udder gone.
I like em.

Thanks man.
It was super loud the first time I mocked it up. I wasn't using the baffles and that made all the difference.
You can also do the mod if you still have the udder but you should still use the baffles to make it sound nice. Otherwise it sounds like a Harley.

well here is mine very similar but a little different the tip outlet is 3" and 1 7/8" inlet here is the before
and after
I took the two tips and welded them together then welded these swedges to the tips
so I could use the original exhaust clamps.

That looks amazing. You need to post up a video so we can hear how it sounds. Would you be willing to make me one? (for a nominal fee of course
)

I would but you really need to have them fitted on the bike before you make the welds. I had to beat it on with a board and mallet because the tips inlets are spaced wider then the marving you can see that the adapters kinda angle in so I hade everything in place then tacked it together and welded after.

I can do the one's I made without having the bike here. They are two seperate pieces so I won't run into the same issues that Macker did.
Shoot me a pm if you're interested.

+1. Did you just jam the narrow end into the Hedman inlet before you mated it to the rest of the system?

The baffles are welded into the reducers. They stick out past them and into the header/udder but it's no big deal.
I also take the time to smooth out the welds where the Tips are joined to the reducers so it looks almost seemless.

you don't even need baffles with the hedman's if you use the udder it really isn't that loud I had hedmans on my udder and unless you change it you should be fine without

I ran my bike with just the udder for a few hours and it sounded like crap. The Hedmans don't really muffle the sound that much. I found I had to add the baffles with my QuatD header otherwise it sounded like a Harley.

I've read the many threads on TOB and have a couple of questions.
1. What is the diameter of the header pipe? I've seen a guess at 1 7/8 inch. If it is 1 7/8 inch then why weld a reducer pipe to the Hooker 1 7/8 in - 3 out pipe? Why buy a larger tip and then mod it down as opposed to buy a tip that fits?
2. Is it safe to assume that all that have done this are using the tip with resonator at min and adding baffles to that?
3. For those with S*R bikes, did you mount these or are they simply hanging off of the header pipes.
I have the full DP Termi kit currently (racing ecu, open box, midpipe and high termis), but really don't like the look and am always looking to reduce weight and increase performance of the bike as a whole. I'd guess that it should save 5 - 10lbs and clean up the rear significantly. I'd appreciate some input as I consider this.
