So the beer tray is @ the point that it has to go. i'm going to do the chop. Before I do this is there any common "Error Traps" on this mod?
I'l also going to be cutting down the high mount exhaust, so it's not hanging past the back of the bike. I'll be doing a detailed write up with plenty of pics. to try to eliminate any future questions on this mod.

There aren't really many traps- you can fabricate your own bracket for the tail light etc pretty easily w/o buying one for 100$- I have made a few of them already for myself and friends.
Why chop your high mounts? Are they the termis? I wouldn't do that personally as I've heard you lose some torque low end despite gaining a bit of HP top end (we're talking about nominal gains really) but i wouldn't chop it if it's the DP exhaust just leave it alone- mine sticks out and it looks fine IMO.

I have a pretty foolproof step by step write up that I give to all my customers. If you want it, just send me an email.

When you say fabricate, do you mean I can buy a bracket at a hardware store or do I actually have to make one?
Thanks!

I would go with the Cookie 1 tail chop from monster parts. Great instructions, looks awesome, and you can get it powder coated black. I contemplated making my own but for the money the Cookie 1 is the best tail chop out there. Also, I just installed some really cool bolts that have leds in them that I got off ebay for the license plate light (it goes away when you chop the tail). They are black with really bright white leds. They look super cool at night and keep you legal. I've had numerous compliments on them. Linky

Let me tell you. I did my chop a few months ago and just put the led bolts on. Makes it look so much cooler IMO because the red from the tailight doesn't wash out the plate. They are way bright enough to make a difference. I couldn't be happier with them. When your putting them on you'll have to go two wires into one for each bolt. Two reds to 1 yellow and 2 blacks to 1 black from the original plate light. I had some shrink crimp connectors left over from my Audi days and used those.
Why can they save your life? Get pulled over for no plate light?

No, I have been replacing broken tail bits with newer pieces that don't fit, and I have no easy way to mount the stocker.

I'll see if I can't get a pic of my setup on here later today so you can check it out before you buy them.

The beer tray looks just plain ugly and dumb. Like a dog with its tounge sticking out. Get rid of it.
