She was sliding all over the place.  I saw these on Ebay but wanted to check with you guys/gals to see if there was a better way.

I used to ride passenger on a Monster. Has she tried keeping her hands on the tank and squeezing you with her knees and upper legs? Also, in putting her hands on the tank, that allows her to use her upper arms to help brace herself on you as well.

Hope that helps.

I'm afraid that wouldn't really work b/c I sit up closer to the tank, leaving a gap b/w my rear and the elevated passenger seat.  If she moved up enough to do that then she'd slide down onto the primary seat with me.  ha

She can't reach the tank from the passenger seat? Hmmm, thats strange. I'm only 5'2" and I never had trouble. I honestly think its technique. I used to end up in the same seat as my ex until he got me to put my hands on the tank. But if she can't, she can't.

Guess you'll have to go with your ebay solution then.  Undecided

I can't always reach the tank either, and I'm 5'4" with longer arms / shorter legs.  It also depends on the size of the rider. Wink

I use the grabrails if necessary.   Another idea is for the passenger to put one hand on the rider's back to brace herself during braking.

Is your ex a big guy that takes up alot of the front seat?  I'm 5'9" 155 pounds.  If I were a big dude with a huge ass then that might work b/c she would be snug up against me.  Oh well.

Sit back further on the seat so she can hold you?

Have you used any silicon based stuff on the seat? Just about any of those vinyl cleaners will make your seat as slippery as...well....something that's really slippery.

I bought a second seat and carved the pillion foam with a hacksaw blade and breadknife, so it doesn't slope backward, then filled the space with some memory foam to keep the shape. (you could use some other sort of soft foam).
There is a bit of a thread on seat mods in the "how to" section.

if you go with the seat spray post up and let us know how it works

I'm not the smallest guy 6' 215lbs and still don't like the GF sliding into me (holding on is another thing) I get her to brace on the tank during braking which works great but you can't have enough stiction for the pilion

do you have the stock seat?

I have the DP seat and really don't have much problem, expect when she forgets to lean back on braking.

Also, apparently the Corbin seat is out and it DEFINITELY has two level seating so that may help.
