How come we can't modify them?

was somebody bad?

did somebody get caught with an appendage in the hard drive?

Hmm, that's really strange.  I can change mine just fine (altho I have more privs, so maybe that's why).  I don't know why anyone would change the settings, I'll look into it tho.

Before everyone puts on their tinfoil hats....

we had a member that decided his post count should be somewhere near 11ty billion.

I changed the permissions to prevent that.
