It only works in northern Europe. ;)
they disproved it with a swing that had a non solid "arm" as in chain/rope.

No, not that again...... :P :P :P
Also, you need to wear a black unitard. Fashion is Fizziks. [thumbsup]
Oh my giddy Aunt... not the plane again. Didn't that debate rage to 20 something pages...
And yeah, the Mythbusters proved that it's not possible for an unassisted human to get a swing that has flexible (rope chain etc) supports to got 360. But it's not very hard to get a rigid 'russian' style swing to 360.
All that video proved is that Northern Europe is where pop music goes to die.

And apparently to be created. Have you not heard Ace of Base? ;D Thank god it died there as well.

Exactly, also they show the same rig on mythbusters (though on a smaller scale)
Word...I believe I blacked out for the later part of the show where they do in fact mention a solid/rigid configuration can go 360.
Tell me more about this airplane on a conveyor myth! [roll] [evil] [roll]

The theory is that a treadmill will not work in a moving airplane.
they also disproved the "myth" that a stick through the spokes of a bike will make you fly over the handle bars. [roll]
their test rig was total crap for that one.
well I have PROOF that the "myth" is true. It's a scar on my forehead from when I was a kid and my neighbor stuck a broom in my front spokes.
as for the swing with ropes/chains...I think they were pretty thorough...but I could be wrong. I don't know my swing physics that well.
Well I think they were trying to prove it would not fly like 30 feet in the air like it did in the movie

Mythbusters doesn't disprove anything.
A negative result is not proof.

Sure it is. Remember that frog I had that I trained to jump on command?
Then we cut off his legs and he wouldn't jump anymore.
Clearly, frogs hear with their legs-who knew?
ehhh
