sorry im venting, but seriously how do you deal with stress without drinking and drugs, cardio works for me but i cant have an elliptical strapped to my back 24/7
learn to accept
I just sort of let it go. Remind yourself it's not that important.
Downsizing and lowering ones overhead are two huge key stress relievers for me. Still have some overhead to go....
My town needs a good pizza joint, maybe you could franchise your headaches away.

at least thats my position and right now every f!@#$ing customer is a PIA

Trackdays usually do the trick. Too bad you live in NYC and wont see one for the net 4 months...
It's a state of mind thing and as with most things easier said than done.
Become as introspective as you can so you can understand yourself.
Pull back as far as you can to understand the big picture, how everything goes together.
Do your best to understand others and how they feel, what they experience.
What you think is important, what is difficult means nothing.
In the grand scheme of things anything you can even conceive of means nothing.
That said I'm often frustrated and stressed but in pushing myself to think beyond the boundaries of my little human pea brain, I've come a long way in improving myself and how I deal with things.

how do you deal with stress without drugs
You to, huh? I am stressed to the max right now with several BIG issues at hand. One being major dental work. I'm stressed and it's been eating away at me. Mental stress accompanied by physical pain. :P . Last night when I was asleep, I was grinding my teeth so hard that my tooth, tongue. jaw, head and neck were killing me when I woke up!! Embarassed to say but it brought me to tears. Thankfully, I can deal with it with drugs until a much needed root canal is over. Vicadin and a longggg, hot shower helped me cope this morning.
Usually when I'm stressed though, I go to the gym and/or ride the Duc. Then I make a plan and concentrate on the positive outcomes that will come from the situation. Everything happens for a reason!! Maybe it is time that you pack it up and get on with something else??
Good luck!
I own a couple pizza restaurants and know a thing or two about stress...home equity loan payments...limited <idiot> partners....blah blah blah
stay focused on the big picture. delegate. make time to do something else that requires your total concentration.
It also helps if you just accept the fact that you are now and always will be a total asshole....cause that's what being the boss is about. Stop trying to make them happy and worry a little bit about making you happy.
my 2 cents

I set aside some time every week to completely forget about work and do something unrelated. I still get stressed out and feel a lot of pressure while I'm working, but it's nice having some time to look forward to doing something else.

as to the thread....I am least stressed when I stay busy after work with fun things. It's when I'm sitting sround thinking about it that I go nuts. Movies...drinks or dinners with friends (can be done cheaply at home)...etc.etc.

I have to get a state id then go and buy one.
My advice is you should have kids. Preferably 2 or more.
It won't actually reduce your stress level, bit it will make you realize what you thought was stress was, in fact, nothing much compared to what you're going through now. ;D

reactive targets at long distances.
my favorite is to shoot paint balls at 100 yards with my 17hmr.
you have to breath, slow down, concentrate on the target.. the only thing in the world is the target and you... then POP!
and if you did everything right theres a nice orange mist 100 yards away. If not, no big deal you can make another shot.
I know what stress is, I run my own business aswell..
the number one key in getting my stress level average lower was to get rid of the waiting room. nothings worse then some jack ass who wants to BS with you while your running around answering the phone and trying to fix there car, and your cup of coffee is getting cold. Thats bad stress, the kind that makes me want to punch the wall.
I learned to fix cars on flat rate, so theres good stress too, and for me its to get as much done, as quickly as possible with dead lines (usually artificial)... when I get into this mode, I can get lots of work done... I'd say, when I get in this mode, I can get more work done between 3 and 5 then the whole rest of the day, and some times this crazy mood has me work until like 7 or 8, even if I don't need to..
but at the end of the week, its always nice to go shoot stuff, and when the weather is nicer some of this doesn't hurt [moto]

Which 17 do you have? Id like to get the Ruger SS bolt action or possibly a CZ. I had a Remington 597 with laminated stock and bull barrel but the damn thing blew up on me.....POS. Love the hmr!

lots of those 597's went KB. Auto loading 17hmrs don't seem to be working out so well, magnum research 17's keep blowing up too..
I think the pressure spike is to fast and doesn't taper off quickly enough.
I have a savage 93r17GV with the accutrigger. best $200 I've ever spent.
theres some mods for the trigger spring that drop the pull to almost nothing, works great and is safe due to the triggers design.
not as nice as the cz's.. but for the money the savage is a great shooter.
