At first I had no words.
Then I thought of a few.

and he still needs tires. [thumbsup]
OK so since I'm not a modern car guy. Why didn't the tires spin and what did he
burn up? the clutch?
as soon as I saw the tires weren't spinning I figured it would be bad.
Can you say........
Is it covered under waranty? [laugh]

my favorite part is when he gets out to look at the skid marks
and then pops the trunk before the hood [laugh] [laugh]
I missed that part. I was too fixated on douch-baggery.
Yeah, the clutch was punished into dust.
It's tough to fry tire in a manual trans car (as compared to power braking an automatic trans car)
Why didn't the idiot cameraman tell him the wheels weren't spinning? Hello fried clutch....
Maybe he didn't want to say anything
[evil]

Why didn't the idiot cameraman tell him the wheels weren't spinning? Hello fried clutch....
Because he is an idiot
1. he walked in front of the car
2. he was trying to see which tires were spinning
You'd think the smell would give it away... but I guess you'd need to be able to tell the difference.
Soo... what was he saying about 8,000mi and $600? He just got the tires 8,000mi ago and wanted to fry them doing a burnout? That's stupid. And then burning up the clutch instead of the tires was just idiotic.
R compound tires don't last very long they are soft like motorcycle tires
^ this is a true fact
Well done burn out...

There were a couple "mechanics" standing there watching. How about, "Shut it off, something's wrong."
i knew a guy that had one of the first new gen corvettes in 1994. he bought it... drove the shit out of it in italy (read no speed limit autostrada) and then sold it with something like 12,000 miles on it. (he was mad cause i borrowed it and took it over 12k [evil] ) WITHOUT ever doing a service!!!
but it was fun to play with those Ferrari's that day [laugh]
ring ring.......
Hello...thank you for calling Johnson Chevrolet service , this is Tom how may I assist you?
uh... hi Tom this is Jeff. I have a 07 z06 and I'm having a hard time getting my transmission to shift. I know the cars out of factory warranty but I purchased a Guardian extended warranty when I bought the car. The policy bumps the engine and trans warranty up to 5 years 100k on the miles. I bought the premium plan so I have a zero deductable and it covers a rental car. So.... when can I drop it off?
Jeff...
Yes Tom....
We have internet access here a Johnson Chevrolet.....
Cool Tom... so like I can surf the net while I wait for the shuttle van to pick me up and take me to the rental place?
Uh..... not exactly Jeff. When it's slow..... me and the techs all stand around and watch the funny things people post up on the net.
Oh...
Hey Jeff..... did I forget to mention we offer a free 51 point inspection with every set of tires purchased?
BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

He did a burn out alright... just not the tires. LOL Thanks for a great laugh, Mr. D-bag
so is a clutch covered under a powertrain warranty? thought that was a 'normal' wear item.
I'd be pretty surprised if they covered that.

it is a normal wear item.... but there are times when you can get one covered by warranty within the 12/12 time frame

WOW - that was just awesome. Was nice of him to document all the damage so thoroughly.
I work at a national used car recondition and resaler, and we had this little shithead wigger kid with a Marauder that mommy bought him come in for 3 sets of tires, 2 set of front brakes, 2 new rear-ends, and an ENGINE in a span of 8 months... all covered under our extended warranty. After the engine blew up, we (Service Manager and technician) got on YouTube, and did a little research. Turns out the kid had a buddy recording of of his ass sliding antics in said car. One warranty decline and call to mommy later, car is sold, and kid is SOL. Happy ending, except for the ruined Marauder. I really like those, and he make the beast with two backsed it up something fierce. [bang]

Its suprising how many clutches ive replaced under 12,000 miles. 90% are due to abuse with the other 10% being a true mechanical failure not influenced by the owner. Ive replaced two clutches on brand new cars that were ruined by the transport truck driver during loading and unloading. If you pregnant dog enough about a clutch failing that premature Porsche will sometimes pick up the tab.

You'd think a truck driver could handle a clutch...
are the Porsche clutches that fragile...
or were the drivers really that bad?

Probably a combination of a bad driver(who doesn't know it) and a high hp motor, I've seen this a couple times with some of the newer AWD cars too. Boy racer trying to burn out in a STI/WRX. I feel like knockiong on the window and saying "um, you realize the advantage of the AWD is that it DOESN'T spin as easy right?"
Nothing fragile about them at all. Seen em go over 100k before but the average is 60 - 70k. Granted if you let one slip and pour on the coals you can destroy it pretty fast.
A buddy of mine had a Taurus SHO. Brought it in for some warranty work. The clutch was fine. Picked the car up and he could hardly get it out of the parking lot the clutch was slipping so bad. Somehow the clutch facings turned into slick carbon while at the dealer.

I had the same thing happen to my Mercury Cougar when I moved and had the car shipped.

The car spent 3 weeks at the dealer getting repaired at the movers expense. The movers paid for my rental car and sent me some compensation cash as well. I never got an explanation, but for a brand new car (less than 2 weeks old with fewer than 800 miles) to get the clutch blown took some doing.

Actually it's pretty easy, as Jon said earlier..."If you let one slip and pour on the coals you can destroy it pretty fast."

In the beginning of the video they said the guy's the Bowling Green plant manager.
I don't think he's too worried about the car.
Classic one I read about in the local paper a number of years ago.
Local guy has spent a small fortune on his pride and joy (A Ford Falcon XR6 turbo) did all the usual upgrade like Turbo, Intercooler, Injectors, Etc, Etc.
Spent about 20K on the car, while all the work was being done, the HVAC fan in the dash failed, it was still under warranty and the dealer agreed to replace
it, (warranty for the engine and drivetrain was gone, but everything else was still covered) after much promising that the car would not be driven on the road,
The nervous owner leaves the car at the dealership.
4 hours later he walks into the dealership with his lawyer and a recording he made on his Mobile phone.....
The Mechanic doing the work decided to do a run down a known favorite road of the street racing fraternity (lots of Warehouses and industrial sheds) after
some smoky runs and a couple of burnouts he returned to the dealership, gets the car washed and detailed and parks it outside.
Little did the mechanic realize this guy had an office in a warehouse down that particular road, owner spots the shenanigans and picks up his mobile and
starts filming.
The conditions of the settlement were kept confidential, but lets just say we saw his wife running around in a new Ford Falcon GT and his Car has even more
expensive bits thrown at it. [laugh]
I saw this on TV the other night lol

Here's another one -- mechanic takes a customer's Laborghini Gallardo out for a spin, gets busted for way excessive speed... and the customer's Lambo is impounded for a month.
