I've got a wickedly bad shoulder that needs a lot of surgical attention. Even long sessions with a .223 made me head for the Advil and flexible cold pack out of the freezer. I now keep a PAST slip on shoulder pad in one of my rifle/shotgun gear range bags. [thumbsup] It put a dent in Advil's profits last year! [laugh]

Glad the session went well. With some shoulder padding and a massaged trigger bet those groups shrink.

Oh I have a crunchy shoulder too but it isn't arthritic yet so I get a little sore but no deep-aches yet....I hate the idea of age putting an end to my shooting large calibers....my eyes are a big enough problem as it is and I hate the idea of moving to scopes full time...I have always been a die-hard iron sight type

I damn near cried when I had to move from 3 inch shoot-n-c's to 6 inchers

I do as well....old Colt AR from the late 70's and currently a lego-special I put together using an LRB lower, someone's flat top upper, RRA trigger and Armalite Barrel, bolt and carrier. Scoped that one with the Leupold Mark AR

I swear by the Armalite standard M15A2 barrels 1:9 twists and have used them for a few I assembled always with outstanding results

I have found that the best heads for .223 are the Sierra 60 grain hollow point varminters and damn near any type of powder behind the load...outshoots their match heads of any weight 7 days a week
I have a CZ 527 FS with a 1:12 barrel. It likes much lighter projectiles than a 1:9. Does really well with a 40-45 gr ballistic tip

I could still hit you at 300 yards with irons but I'd need glasses to read your drivers license! [laugh] Old age sucks. It's even shortened my rides! [bang] Where does this shit end? Oh yeah, I forgot! :o

I like those Leupold Mark AR bdc scopes. Put a 3x9 with ARMS quick release rings on a built up AR flat top last year and really like it. So much so I bought the 4x12 version for my .223 Remington 700 PSS. Haven't mounted it yet but I know I'll like the results.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The CZ's are outstanding rifles...literally the best bang for your buck in the market

the slower 1:12 twist would definitely do better with the lighter heads

my range pal has the 527 he loves it and with good reason....I went for the CZ in .22WMR when all those nifty ballistic tipped rimfire rounds came out

I always had a sweet spot for the 22 magnums...did some of my finest ground-hogging with one as a kid

this one shoots like the dickens all day long

I just turned in my form 4's to the MD State Police. It will be on its way to the ATF any day. Some very quiet Class III goodness is heading my way soon!

Stopped at the local shooter shop.  They were closed but I grabbed a shot of their sign [laugh]

That sign could really use more punctuation than the one exclamation mark at the end.

"Get some navy Islamic terrorists are like king salmon life is great til the seals show up!"

So are these terrorists part of a terrorist navy? And why do I want to get some of them? I'd have little use for an Islamic terrorist navy in Kansas, and I can't imagine they'd manage much terrorizing on the Arkansas river. Maybe a very small amount of terror if they tried to share any fish they'd caught.

I believe the FBI has an interest too.

Does it have a threaded barrel? It's hard for me to tell if the barrel comp is threaded on or not. If I ever got a muffled gun it would be a .22. [thumbsup] Probably a 10/22. Using sub sonic rounds all you hear is the bolt slapping. My MP5 has a 3 lug barrel but I'd still make the effort to go the .22 route.

Yes it is a threaded barrel 1/2-28. It is a Browning Buckmark 22LR with a Tactical Solutions threaded fluted barrel, comp  and top rail. I bought a Silencerco "Sparrow" for it. MSP only run the criminal check through the MD department of corrections and the FBI. The FBI has no other involvement.

The can I bought is rated for full auto as well. I see a full auto 10/22 build comming up!

I've been jonesin' for a muffled 10/22 for years. Don't care if it's auto, just want one that's hushed. I've got a couple of friends with muffled 10/22s and .22 auto pistols with cans and they are fun times 10!! [thumbsup] Hope yours goes through easy and fast. [wine] Over the years mine have taken 3-6 months. I have always envisioned my paperwork stacked up on someones desk for months collecting dust until they snap to and grind through the stack. Hurry up and wait! [laugh]

I just got a letter from the state saying that my criminal history check has been completed  ;D. No history was found [evil]

Is that a reflection of you or the laziness of the stereotypical gov't worker doing the checks?  [evil]

;D

But [thumbsup]
