I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

the difference between rental cars and 4x4's is that a rental car will go anywhere.   [evil]
I flipped a jeep in Nevada twice, drove it to the side of the road and told the insurance company I pushed off the road....of course I took the full insurance out.  :o

I once left a rented Trans Am in Tampa Bay....

the actual Bay....not the town....I left it on the sand but the tide came in later that night...

the rear tire exploded in the sand and tore out the entire back of the rear quarter panel

it was dry when I left it there...

boy they were pissed when they hauled it out of the water the next morning and even more pissed when they saw the quarter panel

water sluicing out of all the cracks and seams....like a boat being trailered

they really went nuts when I asked them for another car  [thumbsup]

so how did the rear tire explode on the sand?

Quite violently....we were having traction issues and as a result had the gas pedal to the floor, tach and speedo needles buried....the laws of heat and friction took over...keep in mind hard packed damp coral sand....
