(speedo)wheel spacer

I searched for it but came up blank I have a different type speedometer now and if I remove the speedo cable, I remember reading on TOB that a spacer needs to take place of the old housing. Anybody have FHE with this ? It's a 20mm axle.

Also, Motogadget instruments come with a magnetic pickup and little neodymium magnets you have to glue to the wheel or rotor. Anybody tried magnetic bolts like some of the other aftermarket dashes use?

The saver just needs to be the same thickness as the speedo drive and can be made out of anything....steel...aluminum...whatever. Any machine shop can do it.

I have a SPA tach/speedo and I used Devcon epoxy for the magnet. It's been there for over 10 years.

If you're willing to sacrifice your existing speedo drive...  There's a spacer already inside it.  Steel, properly coated & dimensioned.

I used a 2-part epoxy & had no issues, but also don't see why a magnet bolt wouldn't work...

Thanx Stew. You're brilliant. I never thought of cannibalizing the stock piece. I'm already this far into it so the stock speedo isn't really much of an option anymore. I'll just use that collar and some A/B epoxy on the magnets.
