Price is key I know, but some go all out to bling their bikes and a Ti triple is another thing to go nuts with. I would have figured a Ti triple before a carbon one.

As a general rule (not to over complicate) a part the weighs 3lbs of steel would be 2lbs of Ti and 1lb of Al, i.e. thirds.  An Magnesium is lighter than all of them.

With carbon there are too many variables to put in the simple equation above, sometimes Al or Mag will beat it, just depends on what you are doing.  Each material has its benefits.
