Same thing.

We were going to try and start a National Monster Meet but thought it would be better if we just went to Tourismo as everything is already set up.

I was also aiming at being there.
Not sure about riding all the way.
Maybe from Melbourne across.

yep will do, but I think this might be the best way to go.
A good ride through the Great Ocean Road etc....
Think that's what I'll be doing.

Do you mean pre booked or registered? I registered by email with whoever is running it. Apparently they send something out by email a few weeks before.

Today I got given some of the various Australian Ducati owners club mags. Some of them have reports from lats years Tourismo so if i learn any tips I'll get back to you.

Yep - I am pre-registered too! No accom as yet but there is plenty of time - One word of advice to those new to a Turismo - When you get the e-mail outining the ride and the towns e are stopping in book the advised accom FAST! You get good rates and you get to stay with your (new) mates as well as your old mates. That way you get all the fun - both daylight hours and night time excursions!

As to riding down - no way - I will probably send my bike down to Melb and ride over via the GOR and Grampians (depending on time) - and then fly back from Adelaide and send the bike back from there!

You will end up doing nearly 2000 klms during the Turismo alone and they are fast and furious so I can guarantee that by the end of the ride I plan I will be stuffed ;:| (not so young anymore)

Take as little clothing as you can and use the offered truck to take your bags every day - It costs about $100 and you drop your bags off in the mornings at the briefing and pick them up at them end of the days ride - really nice not to have too much shit on-board the Monster when you are doing 500+ k's.

Put new tyres on before you go otherwise you will only be able to get what the Bridgestone truck has avail - Good thing is the Ducati trunk and the tyre truck follow the route so if you have a problem they assist!

I will probably hook up the the DOCNSW crew and there will be around 30 or so from DOCNSW. It is a great social occasion as well as a great ride! This is where NFI really do a great job and they really spend up big making this event worthwhile. I have to say they do an excellent job! wt:

The evenings are great fun and you get to talk bikes with 300+ other Ducati riders - it is just FUN! dr::
