Who was it that said a 4v wouldn't fit in the 696 frame? Wheel hitting the radiator etc...

Just because it is not hitting when parked doesn't mean it won't hit when riding it.  It looks really close in the side view pics.

Well, when I spoke to the guy at Indy, he did state it was a heavily modified 696 frame.  Where there is a will, there is a way.

Besides, that just makes it more like a 1098 R, which got held out of masterbike this year because changing to a different tire brand caused the front to hit the radiator.

Pretty sure he wouldn't go to all that trouble if he couldn't even ride it.

I remember thinking the same thing while I was standing there looking at it.

It really did look like it was going to make contact when the forks compress.

It is hard to know exactly if it will touch with all the flex and bounce and compression that a front end goes through.

There have been more than several threads over the years on Monster forums about this problem when folks are doing engine swaps / radiator locations / custom frames / etc.

Looked at the pics a bit closer....

IMO, the front wheel will hit the rad.

hell the first batch of S4RSs on our shore had the rad clearance issue right out of the crate.
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

This pic looks like contact waiting to happen.  Regardless it is a great looking bike, with a lot of nice work, and will be very cool when it is finished.

Or move the radiator undertail, do an under bike exhaust and a different cowl to vent the heat

If the tire might hit the radiator -- just build a new radiator or modify the existing one.  Pretty easy to do. 

To mount beneath the seat?  it would be a nightmare to put the radiator there-- not enough air volume and too close to the exhaust besides the waterline routing headache that would occur -- you'd have to run the water lines external of the frame which would be fugly at best.
