So, after getting news last night of the accident that took two of our friends, my fiancĂ©e and I felt the need to take a mid-morning ride through the mountains in honor of our friends as they are together forever doing something they loved to do together.  Kinda to say "We'll miss you" to them.  This is the section of the BRP between Balsam Gap and Waterrock Knob.  We rode in and out of the fog all the way up the mountain.  It was beautiful & dreary all at the same time.

What road ahead:

Looking west from the Waterrock Knob parking area, the road you see is the BRP coming up to the turn off:

Looking south from the same parking area:

Another shot looking west from the same parking area:

Looking northwest from the same parking area.  The large building you see deep in the valley, kinda sitting on the clouds in the foreground, is the Harrah's Cherokee Casino's big hotel:

A nice "S" on the way up the mountain:

A couple artsy shots with Molly:

They're beautiful JM. I hope to make it up there once the gas situation gets better.

A wonderful way to honor your friends.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
