In search of Warwoman... (ride report & pics)

Took a nice 150ish mile ride today.  I went through the Highlands NC area twice & crossed the NC/GA border 4 times.  Towns encountered:  Sylva, NC; Cashiers, NC; Highlands, NC; Clayton, GA; Dillard, GA.  I had heard tale of some good riding on a road called "Warwoman Rd in north GA.  I set out to find it.  The roads getting & returning there were more impressive than Warwoman in itself.  Only 3-4 miles of good, tight & challenging parts.

On this road, I passed something like seven of these signs:


After I passed through Highlands, NC following NC28 south and crossed into GA, I was on one excellent road, GA28.  Here's a couple turns:




I then found Warwoman, which takes you from GA28 to Clayton, GA.  From Clayton, I turned north on 441 and continued to Dillard, GA.  Once in Dillard, you can pick up GA246 (turns into NC106) back to Highlands, NC.  106 is a nice road with some great vistas.  Here's one looking into the Blue Valley:


As I neared Highlands, I found the road to Glen Falls, it's well marked.  It's one mile from NC106 to the parking area and it's gravel.  The falls are a 3/4 mile hike downhill to find the falls.  The hike back out is a killer.  Here's the falls:

It was nice, lots of twisties, a little chipseal (kinda like what you Aussies call Bichumen sp?) a couple miles of gravel, but some excellent vistas & killer twisties!  I should've stopped for more pics, but I get caught up in the ride ~
