Disappointment

I liked the DML

I want to like this place as much

but it's not happening

and that is mainly due to watching a group of people who I thought highly of

devolve

into trolls and assholes

I feel strongly that the attack on the DML should cease

and the attack on the sponsorship should cease

the DML became what it was through hardwork and enthusiasm

So far this place seems to be full of frustration and angst

Everyone has a right to feel whatever they feel and say their piece

but

I disagree whole heartedly on trying to get banned from the DML

go there if you still can and PM people to this place if you want more folk here

delete your posts (if you can) if you do not want to contribute to that place anymore

but the trolling and the contacting of sponsors is petty

and to me

an embarrassment

this is the type of shit that Andrew Pancroft (The Masked Marvel) did

granted he was an all out liar but the tactics are similar enough

and I just don't want to associate that kind of make the beast with two backsstick with the good people that make this place happen

I got banned, not for trolling, but for merely posting about this site.  I was disallowed from accessing information I gave freely, and that information is being used by someone else for their own profit.  VS has chosen a path that very clearly has said, "make the beast with two backs you".  I'm not stupid enough to think that my actions alone will have any affect on their corporate actions, but we, as a group, obviously have the ability to make some changes, even if those changes are only to raise awareness. 

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

I couldn't agree more, it's an internet forum for gods sake.  It's hardly worth getting mad over.  That doesn't mean you can't use what influence you have available to bring about a change.

but one must be zen about these things...

i imagine that the loss of the vast majority of long term members, and the general spreading of the news on how the company is conducting itself will do enough harm without active sabotage.

People are feeling jilted... I was angry at first, did some trolling and posting of links to this place.  I got banned pretty damn fast.  I have cooled off now, and just want to go back once my ban is lifted and delete what I can, post a few links where needed and leave it at that.

I can be pretty childish, and as it says below my avatar, a professional asshole...

But if I can cool off... the rest of us will.  It's just a matter of time.

Sure, i understand that, and I'm not faulting anyone (well, I am, but not individuals just the actions)

this is just my opinion

in my own life, I have devoted way to much negative energy to things that are done and gone and I cannot do anything about

this is something that I try to mitigate every day

so, for me

An internet forum is just a medium of communication, just because it is electronic does not somehow make it any less valid than any other form of communication

all I see is ducatimonster.org...and an alien version of the url I remember logging in to.

It's OK though...

It seems I'll be able to keep in touch with my friends...

and help a few people make some new friends...
