+1 on this easy mod.  I just pulled off the side covers and re-routed the wires.  Looks great sans the passenger peg bracket.  I'll need to find something to go there....or get serious and chop it off over the winter/mod the frame and re-powder Smiley

so what exactly is holding those panels in place? is it a snap on snap off type of deal? or are there screws?

Bolts into rubber mounted nuts which can be a pita to get off i ended up breaking one of my side panels off. so i could get a decent grip on the nut with a wrench.

I took mine off but you could see too much cabling on one side .

I fitted these instead. I wanted a set since the day i signed up for the DMl and saw industrial girls monster.

she has silver DP side panels. i think black go better wi ma yella bike tho.

I am with you... it looks great without the side panels... much more industrial...
Out of all the pics only one  person has taken the panels off an older monster.
And it looks ok on an all black bike because the wiring loom doesnt stick out it blends in.

personally i think the newer frame suits  the panelless look better.
