I don't know if my arm will ever be able to rest by my side at night any more since this one usually slept in my left arm pit for 17 of her 18 years. Said good bye this morning. Sucks. :'(  |

Gone through it before. Still suuuuucks!
Just thankful that she had a long, happy life, was safe, well fed and well loved. She was a cool cat and faithful companion.
Her one functioning kidney was, I suspect, finally failing her. At 18, I wasn't going to bring her to emergency and have her on fluids for days that would then sustain her for a few more weeks.
So grateful for a neighborhood vet who makes house calls so her last day wasn't in a clinic - which she hated with a passion.
