Sorry to hear hiblam, we lost a wonderful sandy tabby to kidney disease, it's so hard to see that happen.  My two black cats (We call them sentinels, they're 30lbs and guard us & our furry friends when sick) stood watch over him and laid down on either side of him as he was going.  It was hard to see him go.

Sad to hear about both kitties.

Took these at the Hemingway House & Museum in Key West.  They continue to breed the polydactyl cats just as Hemingway did.

The gray one reminds me of our resident Hemingway:

No clue what she thinks she's doing, but she does this all the time. It's even sillier when she stretches and yawns, and her front legs stick straight out like Superman flying....

Our girl Yin does that too; it must feel good, as she likes to spread her toes as wide as possible.

<snipped for brevity>

Considering that lack of opposable thumbs is probably the biggest reason why most cats haven't murdered us in our sleep and stolen all of the gooshy food out of the pantry, do we really need to be encouraging this?

After a really rough weekend with multiple trips to the vet that never really came up with a diagnosis, I got word earlier today that our kitty Yin died while they were trying to get her fluids & core temperature back up.

I'm going to miss her a lot.
