Looks like she moved the family back into the garage yesterday, into a corner with some old tools giving her some cover. If she wasn't so pissed off every time I came close enough, it would have made a quite appropriate photo of her protecting her kittens, front paws draped over the head of a rusty old double-bitted axe. I don't for a second doubt she'd use it if she could lift it.

I'm putting the cat food in a cat carrier to get her used to going inside that kind of a space for food, and asking around for an appropriate-sized Havahart trap that I'll use once the kittens are a little more ambulatory.

We have a small cat that looks about like Loki!  He was also a rescue the mom had abandoned and was slowly starving to death when my wife found him.  He's now the friendliest most social cat in the house.  Still tiny though, only about 6lbs.

Size of cats in your house is relative.   Wink

I think D-con is about 7lbs and I would not consider her tiny.

Quite true.  Our black cats are, um, well, large.  They're both pushing 30lbs...

We think they are Maine Coon or Norweigan Forest Cat mixes due to the size and temperament.

Here's Spooky, with an object for scale.  I think he had too much 'nip.

And, a more awake picture of him:

My parents' two Beagles are terrified of them.  It's hilarious when I pup sit.

Edward is currently ~32lbs. The first pic is of him on a dog bed meant for Labs...

With a 20oz bottle of water for reference scale...

He is the silent watcher...

Loki is wondering when we got a shower...

He's a very handsome lil fellow...

Beth prefers the water dish anywhere but where YOU put it...

And these are HER clothes and she would thank you very much to mind your own business...

Of course, clean...dirty...doesn't matter, they are HER clothes...

What part of these are MY clothes don't you stupid humans understand?

Those are actually several fine examples of the very rare North American Long-Tailed Black Bear.
