A trained dog has no need for a prong collar and there is no need (imho) to use one for training.
Why do I see them on nearly every PD K9?
Do a google search. Plenty of articles regarding the misunderstood prong collar.
Would I put one on my JRT? No need.

IMO a prong collar is preferable to a choke collar.
I prefer to avoid both when possible.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Sorry to stray from the point...but does anyone have a pictue of a pug in a gentle leader? I was trying to picture it the other day and just couldnt do it.
Tried many different leads... But the blood pressure tester works the best.

yeah, it's kinda like a corset, a couple of quick squeezes of the ball and they straighten right up.

A few months after 9/11 I ran into a co-worker I had not seen for some time
he was out in front of our offices just north of where the Trade Towers once stood
he was having a smoke
after the hello's I asked how he was doing..he shrugged and said "ok I suppose"
none of us was really ok...we talked about that day,,,, traded info on where we had been during the attack
I told him I still wasn't used to the missing buildings, no longer looming over the Tribeca Pharmacy...big hole in the sky from where we stood
I mentioned I had watched it from the street that day...
he then told me his dog saved his life, I asked "how's that?"
My co-worker was the service executive for our company,, assigned to Cantor Fitzgerald.
They had weekly service review meetings in Cantor's offices in the Trade Center.... he was supposed to be up there at 9:00 a.m.
going over the puts and takes of our network operations and services, new business etc.
He also had the option of taking the meeting on a conference bridge rather than going in to Manhattan
....said he was getting dressed to go in and his dog just kept at him to go for a second walk of the morning...he lives in Brooklyn so
he was a mere 2 subway stops to the Trade Center...
told me he figured he would take the dog for a quick follow-up walk in the daylight and then get going
.....since his dog was so determined to get out again it probably needed to finish something
when they got outside he saw it was a stunning early fall day
so he decided to go for a long walk with his pup......
changed his mind about going in to Cantor's offices for the meeting
decided he would call in to it instead and enjoy the weather
when they got back the rest was history.....
I laughed and asked him if the dog is getting prime steak for the duration...he smiled
and he shook his head said it was weird how something that small that little decision to walk his dog again....
was why he was still here
and everyone he was supposed to meet with was now gone

Wow.
Lost a couple college friends at Cantor that morning; glad to know that your co-worker's loyal companion saved him
