A lesson in why training dogs - and people - is so critical:

Driving towards the parking area of where I went to swim today, which is within a massive park, I saw a pack of dogs (all on leash as far as I could tell) and a cluster of people

Many dogs within this pack of dogs and people jumping around and very much excited about something - couldn't tell if they were fighting or playing

Then I see something strewn to the wayside of this cluster....
A baby stroller?!?!

Dogs still jumping
A chaotic scene

I notice that it's not a baby stroller.
It's a wheel chair.

The people are moving around and the owner of the chair is lying in the paved road of the park
Not moving.
Chair is about 10 feet away on its side.

There were quite a few people who were trying to control the dogs and an equal number kneeling by the man.
Plenty of others coming to his aid so I stayed back since the area they were in does not allow cars and I was still in mine.

Wondered though if they needed a car to get him home or have him checked out....  Dumb. Should have gone over there regardless - but likely all is/would be ok based on all of the people stopping to help.

Dogs are not allowed off leash at this park.  Some take their chance getting tickets and let their dogs off leash.

Not sure what happened here other than people were not in control of their dogs and a handicapped person paid a price.

Brian gets a little feisty on his short leash sometimes.  A good reminder for me to work on that.
Hopefully everyone in the park who saw this - and was involved with someone getting hurt - learned a lesson.

he's doing soooo much better. when all of this first happened, he couldn't walk, he couldn't even lift up his head, he wasnt eating, he wouldn't focus on anything. it was like the lights were on but no one was home..

now, he cant stand up on his own, but once i get him up, he can walk all over the place. hes eating, although he has become EXTREMELY picky & his appetite isnt as big as it once was..and yes rat & stella, he will eat rotisserie chicken  [thumbsup] & he remembered how to shake & give me kisses & speak.. so, even if this is as good as he gets, i can live with it, although im hopeful he will be able to get up on his own eventually..

you moved to fl afterall?? i am soooo going to visit! :)

Stella, I just hope the person in the wheel chair is OK and was just a scare ...

Rat, FL? Where? ...

My two cockers have suddenly sort of grown up, they would when home alone eat and destroy and pee and poo allover ... the last few days they've been like more controlled ...
