Fearless kitten stands up to a monstrous dog! [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Similar to what happened when we introduced our kitten, looked almost identical to the one on the video, to our dog. Lexi is a boxer mix and not as big as the Rotti, but the kitten was pretty much fearless. After a while the dog was confused cause her motherly instincts kicked in. it was very strange.

So far, Otto thinks our cat is another puppy and can't figure out why she doesn't want to play.

I think he'll be really excited to meet his lifetime playmate on thursday.

B bought him this little squeky skunk that he loves.  Henrik will get a racoon.

My dog does not know what to do with squeaky toys, or balls or Frisbees.  She doesn't know how to play with those things.

I got her when she was 2ish (no idea of her actual age)  She's a rescue dog and the people that had her for the beginning of her life weren't around a lot and didn't feed her on a regular basis.

For about 2 years she would inhale her food whether she wanted it or not.  For another 2 years, she relaxed on the food, but if she knew there was something on the counter to eat and we left, it would be gone.

She had about half her fur (it was growing back) from being bitten alive.  She was on steroids to get the fur going again.  Part of the deal with the rescue was a vet exam and a heart worm test.

She failed that instantly.  They said they hadn't seen a heart worm case that bad, ever.  They told me they did not expect her to live.

So she spent a couple days at the vet where they worked on the heart worms.  Pretty much they poison the dog to within an inch of it's life to kill the little things off.  Sometimes the dog lives, but not always.  Depends on how bad it is.

She couldn't get out of the car on her own when I brought her home.

But she made it [thumbsup]

I did not want a dog in the first place.  My ex-wife's idea.  I still have her and I'm glad I do.  She certainly loves me :)

I know she won't be around forever, but I'll still be devastated when she's gone.

But back to the toys, she does love this chew rope we got her years ago.  Lots of tug of war and wrestling over that with her and I.

I <3 my dog.

I can't imagine the world without my dog. It will be one of the saddest days of my life when she goes on to doggy heaven, but that's (hopefully) many many many years from now.

neither can I imagine myself being 'dogless' ... after Rocco, now with Enzo and Max .. both pee machines ... no matter what we've done .. they just refused to learn ... but after a hard freaking day, they make you forget it all ...

yes, we bought Max, but I feel more that we paid ramson for him, he weighted 24lbs less than Enzo did at 6 months when we got him, now, he's healthy and 34.6lbs and have been asked to put him on the blood donor list .. his hemoglobin is 17!!!

Enzo, he's a cry baby ... but, Rocco's son so he's special for wife and I ...

love them dogs  ! ! !

Had to bring el gato in for bloodwork late this afternoon - she's knocking on the door of 18 years (I'll be surprised if she sees 19 but I thought that when she was 13 and 14 and 15...)

While waiting for her, a woman came in with tears streaming down her face
and carrying (or trying to carry) her old gray-faced yellow lab.

The old pup was seizing....

These furballs.....

Immense joy they bring.

when i went to pick up fasa from the vet, about a week ago, there was a family in the waiting room, whose dog had just passed. the whole family was there. mom, dad, 3 teensge boys & another boy about 12 years old..& there wasn't a single dry eye among any of them... it made me cry just seeing them. its devastating & truly like losing a family member.... :(

2 years ago today our big, sweet, and loyal boy Owen died.  We got him from the Jackson County shelter in Medford, Oregon. He was about two years old then. He was the first dog for the SO and my first since childhood. He was perfect. Obstinate and pig headed, but perfect. He was a mix if St. Bernard and Brittany Spaniel. People would stop in the middle of the road to ask what he was. He got his picture taken almost every walk by some admirer. He had bad hips and the last few weeks of his life were tough. He made it to 10. We miss him every day.

I'm sure he's missed.

115 pounds. Not as big as Statlers Cleo, who was pure Saint, but big enough.

Rover is pretty much all lungs and legs.  Sweetest disposition I've ever seen - not an ounce of aggression ever.
