I've been privately tracking your photos and noticed a lot of habits of my Dobermans.

Mine do the same with knocking them off, romping on the couch, etc.

Wait til I post  a new thread tomorrow of our red eared slider turtle devouring feeder fish.

It was bad ass

Terribly sorry to hear that.

As my advice is shitty and not exactly the best.........but do the right thing for your animal.

I know it is very hard to even think about, but I had to do it March 21st around 730p EST when I was on a cruise boat coming back from vacation.

God damn......I am tearing up thinking about it.

I wish you and yours the best with the situation. I hope it is treatable

Thank you all for your shared feelings, me and wife are just trying to spoil him the more we can and making his last days here the best,

Once again Thanks

cyrus,

the vet, the one i've been going to since 86, also happens to be a friend, told me that he still has some good quality life in him, just some meds, and when the time comes, i'll know cause Rocco will let me know or something like that were his words.

he still wakes me up at 0430 to go for the morning walk and waits eagerly for me and wife to open the door at 1730h to go for the second walk... and eats gobles of bread[laced with prednisone and other stuff]; his lymph nodes are as huge as golf balls but, they don't hurt him but the ones on the throat are blocking a bit of the airwave, therefore the prednisone. The little one well, almost 6 months is learning all the trades from dad and coming up with new tricks of his own.

I just noticed that the dogs pic didn't show so, here's a direct link of both of them, hope you all can see it...

Very good to hear  [thumbsup]

It's great to have an honest Vet is upfront about things; same applies to doctors for humans.

I hope you get lots more time with your buddy  [thumbsup]

And you are right........they do let you know when the time is right. I remember when I said my good byes to my childhood lab, the look in Clementine's eyes let all of us know. Kind of thanking us for a great life, but I am not feeling good anymore and am miserable. Help me.

Clem had a great 14yr life.

I hope you get many more years with yours.

My dog, my Cocker Spaniel, has been diagnosed with Lymphoma and is in a very advanced stage.
At least I got to keep one of his only mating, here they are in the kitchen begging me for bread

Spoil him rotten -- you'll both feel better.

Is this the picture you wanted to post?

Yes, thanks for whatever magic you did...Those are my 'children'.

Oh yeah, they both are spoiled rotten, last night there was a big thunderstorm, both of them slept with us on the bed, even Harley the cat, joined in...

The red one is Rocco, the sick one, the other one, the polar bear[26lbs] is Enzo, his offspring...

But yes, my last dog, Yngwie, he suddenly left the house, never to  be found, he was 15 yrs old, this was bac in 1999, Oct 31st, 1999.

Desmodiva,

I adopted him since his former owner was moving to an apartment building... Now, it's my turn to walk with him his last miles...

Those of you that have been hanging around this thread for some time may have seen this pic of Siku (Yupik for ice, pronounced Sea koo) and I.  Siku just passed on a few days ago and the wife and I are rather busted up about it.  We went to my daughters wedding and were gone for 5 days.  When we both leave we hire a local girl to look after the dogs.  She is 13 and seems responsible.  This time she forgot to take care of the dogs and the Texas heat and no water did Siku in.  I don't blame the girl.  She is just a kid and usually we call her to see how things are going.  This time we got caught up in the wedding and didn't call until the 5th day.  Can't blame anyone but us on this.  Still it was a shock to come home and find him dead.  He was still young, fast, strong, and smart.  The wedding was such a high and the homecoming such a dark low.  We sure wish we could have a do over on this.

That really sucks akmnstr. Sorry to hear about your loss.  :'(

I'd be irate with the girl, but that's me. Maybe there's a nice kennel nearby that you can use instead in the future?

I'm so sorry akmnstr.  Poor Siku. :'(  ((hugs)) to you and your wife

Wow. Dude, I am so sorry to hear that. I am starting to tear up thinking about what you and your wife are going through right now.

I am very very sorry.

(PM me if you like as I recently lost a pet while we were on vacation. It is very very hard seeing them all happy when you left and then when you come home, they aren't wagging their tail at you. Sorry, gotta stop. It's hard. Anyway, you have a friend here to lean on if you need anything)

Initially I felt that way too.  But a lesson that I learned long ago is, that if you ask someone to do something for you that is important, it is likely less important to them and if you want it to happen, you need to follow up.  In this case I also should not assume that a 13 year old is responsible.  Still I am planning to have a talk with the girls father to let him know what happened.  I'll let him deal with his daughter as he believes is best.

Akmonster, it saddens me greatly to hear this.  Hopefully the girl learns something from this.

RIP Siku.

Hugs to you two from us two.
