A guy I work with built his wife a Subaru Forester that is something like 350 hp to the wheels. Apparently last weekend he brought it down to VIR and was passing Porsches and such. Now that's got to be an ego blow.

Yes, that is one nice grocery getter.

That isn't that difficult.  The XT Forester has the WRX turbo engine.  Easily achieved with some tunning equipement (intake, exhaust, and other easy goodies) and a remapp.  Unfortunately, unless he swaped out the drive terrian with a STI he has more power than the stock can handle and will eventially cause serious drive terrian damage.

My youngest step son is getting close to 380hp out of his WRX.  He trashed his drive terrian (tranny and rear diff, mostly) with all that extra power.  He is in the process of putting a used STI drive terrian in.  Should be a real sleeper when finished.  If mapped right he could get close to 500 hp.   [evil]

I don't know all the details of what he's done but it sure looks like he knows what he's doing. I saw it the other day and it has big ass Brembos at each corner and all sorts of other goodies. Looks very professionally done to me.
I've yet to see his 300ZX, that is supposedly good for 100mph rolling burnouts.  [evil]

I completely believe the guy. The forester is way badass, so I have no issue believing that the 300 is at least equally modified.
I'm sure he's posted pictures or video up somewhere, I'll him an email Monday to see if he has any links or maybe some pictures he can send me that he won't mind being posted.

Here's this guy's wife's Forester. His quoted horsepower numbers are lower than I thought they were, I was probably incorrectly saying what the car would be doing when he does a bit more work.

Thanks for the update!

That's the same model B and I had (without the mods) in the dark grey.   :'( :'(

Do you know what he has done to the suspension?  It looks slammed.  In a good way.   [thumbsup]

I think he lists some of the mods in that thread he gave me a link to post.
Definitely isn't stock ride height.

He was showing me pics from VIR today and his friend has an awesome 888 with tons of CF.

i'm driving a little black A3 this week while my A4 is in the shop.
it is peppy, and cute, but i'm not into the hatchback, and the lack of AWD...
if i were to consider it as a replacement, i'd need to try the quattro version,
because my a4 just about sticks to the road...

VTRIDER

To bad the we don't get the s3.  That looks like a fun car.

I agree.

quattro qicks.  I have it on my A4 Avant and I've never driven another vehicle (including trucks) that will plow through snow like that thing.
