Have had to reevaluate the mounting position as I've found under full susension compression the horn contacts the front guard, can't get it any higher as the metal tray thingy under the bottom triple clamp contacts it then. Just what does that piece of steel do any way? maybe a water deflector for the air intake, any how it's a Major a*se pain.

I asked exactly that question of the Stebel after reading many posts on this site in the Nth Hemi section,
the owner and head mechanic at Northside Artarmon said that it would not effect the diagnostic readings and that it was all internet forum B/S
"stop reading forum rubbish on the internet"
Suppose I wont find out for another year when fluffy goes under the stethoscope .
I have kept my OEM horn just in case but not really worried about it .
Love my horn , it saved me the other day from a boy racer in his ute who was lane swapping without looking
It woke him up immediatly even with his window up and stereo on

Pity simple really. Forums like this are to share individual experiences for the collective good - my experience is that in two servicings, the horn has had to be disconnected for valid readings. Why? Who knows. Although having rewired a few old ducs myself, I won't even try to get my head around the Monster's electrical system. 100K on the Monster from new, I've learnt it just is and quirks can be caused by multiple things that come together in an unusual manner - it may not be the case for you.
You have three choices with forum inputs:
1. Prepare for the potential issue (in this case, less than a dollar for release connectors just in case)
2. Consider, and assess that its a one off issue and irrelevant for you,
3. follow your mechanics advice and simply 'stop reading forum rubbish' (personally, help over the years from this forum and its predecessor has generally been better than that from the dealer/servicer!)
Maybe value the DMF inputs in the spirit they're given and leave the claims of BS for elsewhere. The more inputs you can read, the better informed the your eventual decision (whatever it is).
Anyway, enjoy the Stebel and look after your 'fluffy' (interesting name for a duc?)

To increase volume by 3db you need to double your power output. That's how it works in car stereo anyway.

. This is precisely to where my flippant doubt was directed. I merely wonder about the validity of the advice given to you by the service personnel, not your sincerity in sharing it with us here. I'd be interested to know just how and what readings were invalidated by the installation of nothing more complex than a simple horn.

The quote of "stop reading forum rubbish" was not mine it was a throw away comment by one of the bike shop employees
so I was not out to dis this or any other forum.
So apologies if it sounded like it was my words , I have found nothing but good advice and good humor here with no cyber bullies unlike MTB forums.
I am a a bit sensitive with this area as I am also a MTB rider and have been verbally abused on MTB forums before for saying the wrong thing and offending people so I don't want to get off on the wrong foot here.
As for fluffy well its the smallest Monster of the pack so its just a joke
kind of a cute little fluffy duck not your snarling 1000cc beast.
And thanks for the heads up re: diagnostic problems as I said I will cross that bridge when the next test come up

I know what you mean...My daily ride is also a 620... I think of her as a snarling beast ,which she is compared to the Monza! Then I see a Monster with a fridge and come back to earth
Don'y have a name for the Monster but the Monza is called Grace ''Through many dangers, toils and snares, we have already come. T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far, and Grace will lead us home' - which it doesn't always!!
