Ditto, but I only have two taps, and it's in my living room.  [beer]

Anyone ever try Dale's Pale Ale?  Canned goodness!

dcal,
Nice set up. [thumbsup]
Is that just a chest freezer that you replaced the thermostat on to hold a warmer temp?

I haven't bought a can of beer since I discovered the link between shotgunning beers and waking up next to nastiness...   :-*

Other than the shotgun function I see no reason to buy a can. with the exception of PBR the metal gives it all the flavor it has.

The cans are lined with plastic to give a nonmetallic taste, fyi.

Oskar Blues Brewery -- says aluminum gives beer longer shelf life, protects it from the destructive effects of light, and gets colder more quickly.

And since beer makers switched to a water-based plastic coating for cans from a solvent-based one in the 1980s, studies have shown that there have been no detectable differences between canned and bottled beer, Ray Klimovitz, technical director of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas told the Boston Globe.

Indeed!  Thanks! I also built the wooden collar to give me an extra 3.5" of height and give me a place to drill for the taps.

Stubbies! :)

I prefer Guinness from the bottle. You are supposed to drink it straight from the bottle, for optimal widget function (it says so on  the bottle). For some reason the canned stuff has a different flavour. Neither compares to a perfectly pulled Guinness draught, though.

Lol, has anyone else noticed that boobies is pretty much the tally counter for how many people looked at the vote? Nobody can resist voting for boobies even if they don't vote on the topic itself.  [laugh]

The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

I buy bottles most of the time, but only because the beer I tend to drink is sold in bottles.  I only go the Keystone/ Beast direction where I'm looking for quantity over quality.

Almost always bottles.

The only exception is beer that comes in cans with widgets, like Guinness.

I'm not an authority on the subject by any means...

but drink a can of dos equis and then a bottle and tell me there isn't a noticeable difference. Same thing with Shiner bock.
We were doing this at our summer retreat/meeting for work. the XX was a very different beer for a can...I don't think I would of ever started drinking it if I had started with the cans  [puke]

If you taste a difference, it may be from the top of the can.

Try pouring both into glasses, then see if you can tell. Great chance for a blind taste test (read, drink until you can't see).

Maui Brewing Co. cans their beers... pretty cool  [thumbsup]

I like bottles better unless I'm going low brow and drinking PBR, Stroh's, or Schlitz. Then I go for the can.  [drink]

I just like to have the bottle in my hand rather than the can. Unless I have one of these.
