Does he really say things like "I'm going to kill you" or "I'm going to rip your head off" in a serious way?  Can you take him in a fight?  It would be funny if one day while he was yelling at you that he was going to rip your head off, you just stood up and said "BRING IT pregnant dog!"  I bet it would shock the shit out of him, and just to be safe, let him hit you first    (obviously I'm joking... a little)

Go this route^^^.  What he is doing is a huge liability to his company.  He's a pussy, with a massive self-esteem problem; he likes abusing power.  He will back down.  Besides, what is he going to do?  Have you fired?  He is the one who threatened you, first.

  I have had to deal with schlongs such as this in the past ,and my best advice would be to see if the shit still pours out of his mouth while you are squeezing on his windpipe.

I'm in engineering as well, and if one of my bosses spoke to me like that I'd tell them to make the beast with two backs off. Without hesitation. That is completely uncalled for and unprofessional. I've had a contractor yell at me once...and he got it right back (we now get along well...I think it actually helped  ). Yelling is uncalled for...yelling and threatening is ridiculous.

We have a couple open positions for engineers with structural backgrounds. Offices in SF, Seattle, Pasadena, and a few other places. PM me if you're interested. If your not, at least tell you boss to stick it up his ass.

Weird, huh? I think that people who like to yell at other people have more respect for someone who stands up to them, rather than just taking it...at least in the work environment.

Don't ever let someone shit on you. If you do, then everyone else you meet will smell it on you and assume it is OK.
