I didn't take them, but they sure take your breath away...wow!

It just doesn't seem real until you see pictures like these. Hearing it on the radio or reading it in the paper just doesn't do justice to the destruction.

If you drive the nicest car in the neighborhood, work in a cash business, and don't pay taxes, you're either a preacher or a drug dealer...

I rode through the Sylmar ash Saturday morning. Sucked.  :-\ The run on the 33 was nice though and made up for it.  ;D Too bad for the people though. On the way down from San Luis Obispo on Sunday I saw some 6 forestry fire fighter trucks going from Santa Barbara to LA.

Awesome pics. The P-3 just became my new desktop pic. This is what I plan on doing someday after I finish flight training.

+1 -- absolutely stunning photography

Sad to see the destruction that has taken place so far this season.  SoCal wildfires stroked by Santa Ana winds are unreal to watch and are fairly unpredictable.

Friends dad has a place up there amongst the burned out homes.  Bye bye the vintage racecar, hotrods and the early racing Ducati collection he had as well as almost all their belongings.  At least they made it out with the family photo album and a few bits of legal paperwork.  Main thing is they made it out -- they can always rebuild later.

Big Troubled Bear

Stunning photos, just sad about all the heartache that comes with them :(
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

the tragedy is real.
i mean the real tragedy is that this happens every year in SOCAL.
in fact, its more regular than hurricanes on the gulf coast, or floods in the mississippi river valley.
