How could I have lived this long and not have known that this existed?

I blame my parents. And that I'm too cheap for anything other than basic cable.

Didn't have the sound on, so I don't know if they mentioned the brakes - Each race truck carries a lot of water to supply a sprayer system to cool the brakes.  In that video you can see the hot water vapor coming up from the rear in a few shots.  It's pretty f'ing nutty racing
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Where u been?  This racing isn't as popular as other motorsports, but has been around for some time.  It's fun to watch most kinds of racing.  What's fascinating about this racing is the destruction of the crashes.

Pony up for the Speed channel.  You'll see lots.

Does this not warp things?  I can't see the vid, but if they're using discs it seems this would cause warping.  If drums, it's probably not a problem ~

It's big freakin' drums.  Those monsters would thrash discs in a couple laps

I cannot die a complete man until I witness one of the races in person.

BTW- Didn't they have semi racing in one of the Smoky and the Bandit movies?

Yes they did!! I thought it died out in the 70's

I love how the guardrails, that usually destroy a race car, get demolished by the trucks!  [beer]

Before NASCAR and FOX took over the long gone Speedvision they used to show truck racing quite a bit.

Ahh the old days.

Remember when ESPN used to show Aussie Rules Football at least once a day?

I miss those days.

I think MTV used to show videos back then too.

Exactly!!  I remember seeing this on Speedvision.  I remember seeing a lot of cool things then.
What the hell happened?  There has to be a ton of cool racing of all kinds of vehicles out there.  Why would the SPEED channel not be exploring this stuff?  I should love a racing channel, but I am close to truly hating SPEED.
I can't be alone, and I probably should apologize for the intense rant, but we're missing the cool stuff, dang-it.

You don't like 'Wrecked'? You don't like 'Pinks', 'Pinks All Out', or 'Pinks Extreme Makeover'? What about NASCAR?

You're not alone. Speed's line-up sucks major balls these days. I used to be able to watch WRC on Speed, but not anymore. They used to show Sprint cars, midgets, and all sorts of cool racing. Now it's NASCAR or crap originals.  >:(

If it werent for Discovery and History Channel i'd cancel my cable.

Yes, Rally!
That used to be my 2nd favorite thing to watch, behind anything 2-wheeled.
Eventually, I gave up trying to find it.  I don't even think Speed shows WRC anymore do they?
That's a series I would love to obsess over again.

Wouldn't you think just exposing the NASKAR crowd to this stuff would create a lot more interest?  Or is anything that's not 2000 left turns  on an oval just too complicated to register.

And thanks for assuring me that I am not alone in this.
Listening to the guys at work trying make Nascrap sound interesting is absolutely frazzling me.  If I urge them to check out a MOTOGP race or two, I just get blank, mouth -breather looks, like I just suggested they watch extreme knitting or something. [bang]
