Yes.  Thats the stocker, sitting next to the replacement.  They make a smalled speedcell that is sub 1lbs, but it's not recommended for a street bike running lights.

It's crazy, but that kind of technology will be in the hybrid cars coming out in the next few years (if they are released/built) in the US.

If you can give me a product that:

1. Reliably starts my daily-driver 900FI without additional care and feeding (tender charging whenever parked, etc) in regular temps (45 - 100 F)
2. Is waterproof
3. Weighs 3-4 pounds or less

I'm buying one.

Li-ion batteries are less affected by temperature, and do not lose a charge while in storage like other batteries.  But, you need a different charger for them, and they have a tendancy to explode if not handled properly.

These batteries are very interesting. From what I have read from all of their details, the Batteries are not Lithium-Ion, but rather Lithium-Ferrous. These are not volatile at all, and are plug in play with normal chargers, and if you get the superbike pack then it should be plug in play with your ducati. The price of the superbike pack looks to be around $250

From the Speedzilla thread, it looks like these batteries aren't li-ion.

Sorry, didn't read the speedzilla thread.  Taftonomus stated that they were Li-ion when they are A123 cells.

I just read it again (I wasn't sure).  They are lithium-ferrous.

In any case, EVERY battery needs care and feeding IMHO, and I'm not sure I'd use something like this without, nor would I recommend using it without a tender on it at night.

More Ti just arrived  ;D



Front rotor bolts (not pictured), rear rotor bolts, rear caliper mounting bolts/washers, caliper bolts (ones that join the halfs together), Sprocket bolts for the quick change.

All adds up to 1.2lbs of rotating mass shaved/gone.  Just to match I grabbed the 3 bolts that hold the brake line onto the swingarm.

The dang wave rotor for the rear (that is 12 ounces lighter than stock - 3/4 lb) is on backorder for 2-3 weeks.  Once that gets here, I'll install it all.  The actual weight drop overall isn't a huge deal (2 lbs?) but the fact that 2 lbs of rotating weight has been shed might actually be noticable.  I'm still saving and hopeing to find a set of used BST's out there.  $50 a week into savings, but it'll still take a more than a year to buy a new pair  :-[

AND, the headlight fairing Ti bolts I ordered came in, so now I can offer the lowered headlight fairing mod/gauges under triple as a complete "kit" with the proper bolts for the gauges.
