The 696 is on a test ride, and then it should be ready to go. I do not have the entire scoop yet, but relays were involved.

So much for getting my bike back today   Cry  They took it out on the test ride and the electrical gremlins reappeared.  They are not sure what the problem is at this point and going to have to dig into it further.

Catie, the offer still stands, find a way to Burleson and you can borrrow the 695.  I know it's not as fast as the 696, but it's got clip-ons Grin

Thanks  waytogo

The 1098 came home last night, but the 696 is deathly ill.  It looks like Catie may have to ride the R6 for a while.

The lights are still acting up. The only light not affected is the left rear blinker.  The bike has also started blowing fuses, something that it had not done before it went to the shop. The problem has not been isolated.

I hope that this is not the beginning of a warranty nightmare  Shocked

VERDICT

Wiring harness must be replaced  bang head

TIME FRAME

Unknown

They have the bike working, but there is a short somewhere in the harness.  The bike could be fine for months, or lose the lights in the first mile.  We are going to pick it up for the weekend and return it to the shop on Tuesday. The wiring harness was ordered yesterday. Can't miss out on this awesome weather.

Trust me, I tried  Evil  We could have gotten the HM or 1098, but Catie didn't want to ride either of them.  She just wants her 696.
