Danica Patrick gets speeding ticket.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP)â€"Danica Patrick paid a $196 fine to settle a speeding ticket after the star race car driver was caught going 54 mph in a 35 mph zone last month.

Patrick, the first woman to win an IndyCar race, was due in traffic court Monday, but a Scottsdale City Court clerk says she paid the fine Wednesday.

The 26-year-old driver was pulled over by Scottsdale police Dec. 9 in her hometown while driving a 2007 Mercedes. A year ago, she was ticketed for driving 57 mph in a 40 mph zone in Scottsdale and was ordered to attend traffic school.

Scottsdale court records show the recent tickets are among several she has received in the past three years.

I don't see why this is such a big deal. Just because she's a race car driver? I got a ticket yesterday but I don't think it will make any headlines. If this was a different celebrity we probably wouldn't hear about it.

I do not drink the Danica Patrick kool-aid, but I am not completely opposed to her. She doesn't win, but finishing 6th for the season isn't bad.

I really do not care about her ticket, and am completely opposed to the odor of her shit

That's total bullshit.

The only ticket I've ever gotten was for 24 over.

It ended up costing a fair bit over 300 bucks.
