So you paid extra for your package to be delivered on time, but it turns out that when it was opened that it was broken. :-[

Here's why:

At the dealership I work at we all but stopped using UPS.  We mostly use Fed Ex now because we were getting damaged shipments daily.  If we ordered a windshield it would usually come in destroyed.  Sometimes we would have to order 4 or 5 to get one good one even though they are well packed and are very clearly marked as glass.  UPS sucks choad.

I've had nothing but bad experience with UPS. Not in breaking, but in hidden shipping fees and astounding duty fees (billed upon delivery, of course) when shipping across the border. I cannot comprehend how UPS manages to charge me 80% duty on a 30$ set of gaskets (MADE IN THE USA no less), when I can get orders of several hundred dollars through FedEx with only a few dollars duty paid at the point of shipping.

For all we know the guy was standing in his garage, knew what it was, knew the driver well, and just made a hand sign to chuck it to him.

maybe.

we have a contract with UPS....I hate it.

my boxes regularly come "repackaged"....sometimes it's just the styrofoam insulation box that belongs inside the cardboard. It makes me wonder what they do to it, considering sometimes we are shipping live specimens  :o

I do feel for these drivers. Some of them are lazy SOBs (as in any line of work), but they are on some insane timetables to deliver quite often. That said, UPS is notorious for breaking things. Anyone ever bought a guitar online and had it shipped UPS? That's how I gauge the quality of the build of the instrument.

Damn, they can't "break" the leathers that are en route to me, can they?  :o

nope...

but they could come pre-rashed.   ;D

edit...

my UPS driver is a good guy that takes his job seriously.

If all the package handlers did the same all would be fine.
