Looks like one of the dealer contestants. Interesting isn't always a good thing. ;D

Raux

that gives me an idea. NOT that i would do it to my bike.
but the style of the tank would look cool as a backbone with ribs.

I like the red tint on the CF. Wonder how they do that.

Just spray the CF with whatever color candy you want, candies are very translucent and the CF will still be visible if done properly, just ask Ducpainter

Very nice work by the lady in question, but not for a monster [thumbsup]
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

motogpfan

interesting paint job but it belongs on an chopper not a monster IMO

the fact that she had to conceptualize and execute the idea for the paint in 4 days shows.

Why is it everytime someone does something other than red or dark everyone says  [puke].... makes me want to do pink leopard spots on mine just to cause angst. It's cool and I'd rock the shit out of it cause, yes my balls are that big, I am that secure, and frankly I could careless what other people who don't ride my bike think.

Sorry if I'm coming off assish, as an artist though it gets tiresome seeing people armchair critique all the time from their boring stock Monsters with bolt on parts installed by the dealer. Someone did something to make their Monster stand out in a crowd.... howabout some kudos for them having the courage to rock a bit more than the rest of the crowd.

way cool, it is a wild paint scheme but it really doesn't look right on an otherwise almost bone stock monster, if highlighted right with the right parts it would be a way cool looking bike.  this coming from a guy who doesn't particularly like the new monsters but  [thumbsup] on the paint
just another fool playing with boats and bikes

being a professional production artist in the video game industry myself i'm under constant scrutiny from the technical art lead, character art lead, and art director.  if someone told me i had to design something and execute it in 4 days and i knew for a fact that it was going to be made public...umm, i'd tell them to make the beast with two backs off.  it's not okay to sacrifice quality for hastiness.

there are plenty of "different" bikes out there.  i just think some aren't as good as others.  that's personal opinion.  and if you're an "artist" then you should learn how to deal with criticism.

I think that motorcycles in general are perfect for customization, and some of the crazier and "uglier" ones are my favorites. Even better, the 696/1100 panels are easily replaceable so you could have multiple sets to choose from depending on your mood. It is something I have been considering actually, buying a couple of extra sets of panels and having them painted.

Why not? I dont think every motorcycle or even every Monster for that matter should look like it did rolling off the assembly line. And considering how the Duc crowd is so INTO customization, paint should be a no-brainer.

I will say however, I love my red 696, and would never paint over those beautiful factory red panels. But as an interchangeable option? Hells yeah!

I didn't say I couldn't handle it... I grow weary of people with no imagination or ablity to do anything any better feeling free to critique those who do, do something. I rarely recieve criticism for my personal work and truthfully I'm harder on myself than anyone else would be anyway... and those pics don't really show good enough detail for you to ascertain the quality of it anyway. You wouldn't take that job on 4 days? Good for you, someone else took a risk, someone else tryed to pull it off and probably knew it would be a challenge. Personally I think it's cool, I like what it creates... bottom line if you don't have anything nice to say, there's no need to comment at all is there? There's no quota here, you won't be deactivated for failing to comment on every thread. Better yet, do something yourself, lets see your best shot. To sit on a basically stock looking Monster and be poohoo someone elses work is lame.

So we can't criticize a piece of work if we ride a stock monster or if we aren't an artist?

Why do you need to? Does it make you feel big? Why is it so hard to shrug your shoulders and go to the next thread?
