No, I thought for that price and being an 1100..there would be at least 110-120 Hp?!

Hmmm..I guess it ain't no S4RS.

Well, for $3000 more, you can get the new Streetfighter. 1098cc engine, claimed 368 lbs dry, and 155 hp! This is the bike that is closer to a S4R. Not sure when it is supposed to be released, though. IMHO, it just looks kinda bulky.

that's like 749 territory...  new 1100's are cool but still air-cooled bikes.

You talk to Warren yet?

Holden

as a 969 owner I'd say you're in for a lot more ducati for the buck with an 848 instead of the 1100sâ€"or an 1198 rather than the SF.

if you're gonna get wet, you might as well go swimming, right? :-\

Although the 1100 have 35hp less than the S4RS the 1100 have the same amount of torque and weigh in 20lbs less than the S4RS. So the 1100 is not as far off from the S4RS as it might seem

Rather it is more comparable to the air cooled 2 valve S2R1000

Raux

short history lesson on Monsters.

Gen 1: aircooled DSS sbk based frame
Gen 1a:aircooled DSS ST based frame (correct me if i'm wrong on the frame)
Gen 2: watercooled SSS ST based frame
Gen 2a: aircooled SSS ST based frame
Gen 3: aircooled DSS/SSS new frame design.

Gen 2a is replaced by the gen 3
Gen 2 is replaced by the Streetfighter

so if you want mondo watercooled HP get the Streetfighter
if you want a more original concept of the Monster get the new Monster.

One of the first watercooled Monsters was a one off by Lyle Lovett.
Now the Monster is more in line with it's original concept, lightweight aircooled naked bike.

the Streetfighter is the heir of the watercooled naked SBK-style Monsters

Worry not.  I've got my M750 (62HP) and my 900SS (80HP) and they feel WORLDS apart on power delivery.  You'll notice WAY more difference going from the 620 to the 1100.  The biggest difference I see between my two is the way the 900SS feels like it just wants to blast off from a stop.  The 750 is no slouch, but the 900 feels crazy powerful compared to the 750.

I was in Ducati Austin last weekend and they had a couple "S" models and demo bike.   [thumbsup]

She's holding together!  I'd actually be up near 100K if we had stayed in AZ and riding like I did back there.  I had over 50K in 3 years!   ;D

Dave..it's all good!  Missing Seattle but liking Austin.  Lots of big life changes coming soon!   :)

BP..that was Christy Turlington   [cheeky]  It was Hurley who was at my wife's store in Seattle.  They're equally fine and yes..probably screamed out both their names at some point!   [laugh]

JJJ..true..I should just get the "S".

big changes? hmmmm,.....
-he's not moving, cause thats nothing new
-not getting unhitched, seems to have been forgiven for having  wet dream about some cupcake actress
-never gonna get rich as a speech therapist

whats left?
IZ there a little AZ on the way!?
better buy the 'S' while you can [moto]

Thanks.. I think my mind is at ease then with the hp!  I'd love to have that superbike power..but..I can do without..and without added back pain.

I'm going to look at the "S" with the s/o this weekend.  Pricing pipes as well.  [thumbsup]

Herm..been married for nearly 15 years.  I ain't getting younger here.  There's been some talk.  A lil' IZ may be coming soon?   ;)

Please.....please name your new bike Christy Turlington.
