Thanks.. I think my mind is at ease then with the hp!  I'd love to have that superbike power..but..I can do without..and without added back pain.
I'm going to look at the "S" with the s/o this weekend.  Pricing pipes as well.  [thumbsup]

Maybe this will help...  first chart compares the 1100 to the S2R1K

Next is M696 vs M1100

Last one compares all 3 1100 series engines...  HYM, MTS and Monster

Please.....please name your new bike Christy Turlington.

It will make married life so delightfully awkward, and so entertaining for us.

[laugh] [laugh]
We'll see.  I wonder how the s/o would feel if I came home with a vanity plate saying Christy ?!   :-X

Thanks for the info Dave!!

Looks like the 696 is the only one that pulls right to the red without that slight drop ~

The red on a 696 is 10,500...so probably not.

Herm..been married for nearly 15 years.  I ain't getting younger here.  There's been some talk.  A lil' IZ may be coming soon?   ;)

no wonder you have gone 15 years without kids! didn't your dad older brother / sibling  / cousin... explain where babies come from?

its not from talking, no matter what the  80's sex ed teacher wanted you to believe.

PM  DP for details about the birds and the bees [thumbsup]

If you drive the nicest car in the neighborhood, work in a cash business, and don't pay taxes, you're either a preacher or a drug dealer...

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

If any one in the north east is interested BCM Ducati in New Hampshire  has got a red 1100s if you give them a call they'll probably quote the best price around for one. I got nothing but good things to say about this shop, you won't find a better place in the northeast, for value and exceptional service. And i will eat my socks on that one if someone proves me wrong : [thumbsup]

I've had a 620 Dark for the past 6 years now..with a stock seat and nothing that really adjusts.  The Ohlins on the "S" sounds tempting.

However, that extra $2K might got better towards a set of CF Termis and a few other mods?

You can say that again especially consiidering a rear Ohlins costs 1600 alone.

ghosthound

how much do the tank panels cost?  would a dealership be able to swap out a red tank for the white tank?

If.... ok its more like when, i get a new monster im going for a white tank with the red frame.

Maybe, but I doubt the one on the 1100S costs is worth that much. I've read that OEM öhlins aren't the same 'quaility' (internal components) and the one on the 1100s doesn't have compression damping.

I'm not sure where that info came from, but it's wrong on a stock 696.  I believe that the DP ecu bumps the redline to 10,5.  My 696 pegs out around the 9250-9500 range like that graph.  It's less than 1k over the peak hp numbers so not a lot of overrev on the bike.
