I paid $635 for my 7,500-mi. service on my 695.

DucatiTorrey

I also heard $450

I'll be getting my 696 soon, anyone know if the first check up is included? I think its the 650 mile service? seems like it should be. hmmm

Sometimes the dealer will throw in the 600 mile service and sometimes Ducati will offer--through the dealer--certificates for the 600 mile service as a sales incentive.  As part of your price bargaining, you might want to ask them to throw in the 600 mile service.  The 600 mile service should be significantly cheaper than the 7.5K service.  They're not doing valves or belts so there's less involved.

Los Angeles. Not gonna say where 'cause I like the dealership and they said it took 6 hours and I believe 'em.

It seems really high for a service alone.  Was it including tires or something?

Nope, just the service.  Something like $450 in labor, the rest was parts.

Thanks I will, only 800 miles to go.  At this rate it will be about 4 weeks.   [moto]

Wow...  That's a lot of $$$ for parts for the 7,500.  Even when I was buying Silkolene, & was only paying $50 for the oil and whatever I needed *if* I even needed a shim ~

Melillimoto in Ocala is the best if your close enough.  As long as you stay away from Daytona Ducati, your alright

Dude, your in LA and Not going to Valley Ducati Service?  Way better than a dealer who is over charging you.

Loki, that sounds like a rip.  It should not cost 200 bucks in parts.

Just test rode a 696 this weekend, loved it......but @ 5K miles you're in need of new tires?  Are they made of butter? Are you the burn out queen?

I always get frustrated when I hear service prices, because I think I got hosed...

'06 S2r... 12k service, NO valve adjustments needed... rear brake pads... front fork service... front tire install, I bought my own tire... $1100.

Wish I had more service options. Maybe I'll go to Bologna and get certified!  [thumbsup]

Labbedds

I had the same service minus fork service and paid $450 at nichol's in milpitas.

5k out of a rear tire is actually pretty good in my opinion... I don't do burnouts or anything like that but these are sport oriented bikes and so equipped with grippy soft tires. You could always put a set of sport touring tires on when its time...

Definately not a good reason not to buy a bike imho
