Pipe alternatives

I really want a full termi kit but I don't have 3 grand, and I'm not having any luck finding a barely used set either. What are some good alternatives? Who makes the quad box, what does it run?
What happens if you run slip ons & mid pipes without the ecu? Or even cutting the baffles out of the stock pipes?

i dont have 3 grand either lol, but termis sound awesome. they just..suffer in the looks department.
the Q-D Exbox is made by Quat D, it is more or less like a udder to some people (me included). about 1grand.
Slip ons are designed to be just that, slip on and go.
Mid pipes without ECU is probably not a good idea. If run with the udder then not so bad (ive done it for 6k+ miles) and the cored stock pipes actually sound really cool! I just cant fathom the look of it.

then you dont want the x-box. there is no noticeable power increase. in fact, IMO, your looking for Termi's (even at 3k)

Look in the classified section, I've got 2 brand new full arrow systems for the s4r (07+) for $1100 SHIPPED. Thats about 300 bucks under the lowest discount retailer.
One system is Ti, the other carbon, so it's your choice.
TAftonomos@gmail.com
Could buy that, get the motowheels reflash or have someone flash your ECU to DP specs, and be out for $1500 or so, with all new parts

This is actually a really good deal for the Arrows. I have Arrow carbons on my S2R1000 the sound better than any other pipes I have heard (some people think they are too loud though). I didn't need to mess with a new ECU and basically just had the fueling adjusted to the degree allowed with the stock ECU. Bike runs great.

I run a full Arrow system on my S4RS. You can get adequate fueling using a Fat Duc 02 manipulator as long as you keep the stock airbox. This might be an economical option for you.

A cat replacement header and a set of properly cored stock cans get you all the honest to Dog Ducati sound you could want. Sounds petty much as good a anything out there. But without the DP ECU you don't get increased performance.
And if you open up the exhaust and take the top off the airbox without tending to the fueling, you're in potentially dangerous territory. I've seen damage done to a s4r from going too lean with an open system.
The DP ECU is the coup de greasy. Nothing else does the job of ensuring adequate, safe fuel supply while adding 10 to 14 HP and butt loads of torque across the rev range.
The DP kit absolutely TRANSFORMS the deep sump bikes. It is worth every penny - well up to about $2500 anyway.

for the 696 there are a few alternatives that are very low cost. only thing i'm seeing as an add on with the DP ECU is the increased rev limit.
i've betting the two brothers juice box to fix the lean of opening up the exhausts and intake.

DP = Ducati Performance (factory performance parts)
ECU = electronic control unit (your bike's brain)
wasn't sure how new to this you were

No worries. I actually knew what the ECU is. Just got lost on the DP part.
So this is a better alternative than a power commander?
What does the DP ECU cost?

its not an alternative to a PC. the two of them have different effects in terms of your bike. DP is somewhere around $1200 factory, $600thru motowheels reflash tool (though it seems like once you buy it, you can only load 1 map onto that one particular ecu)
or around $500 thru monstermash, and he will even do it a second time with an updated map based a dyno sheet you provide him free. However i havent heard much of him doing this, so youll have to contact him directly.
