Yeah, the dummy legally has the right to ride like a f'in squid, and he's not entitled to be a role model, BUT his actions have ramifications for bikers in so many areas (insurance rates, image, etc.).  especially as a damn dealer whats this guy thinking???!!!!

When I see that I think.....that should be on a written part of a motorcycle licence test.

Something like this. Person who is taking the test is asked to view that add and in 25 words or less comment on it.

I sent an email to Brittany with Rockthegear.org

Some of you know who she is, but for those that don't, she was a passenger on her boyfriends bike wearing jeans and a sweatshirt when he wrecked.... She was torn up pretty good. I'll share photos if requested. Anywho.. She became a spokesperson for Icon (the reason they offer so much womens gear) and is a huge advocate for educating people on why they should wear gear. I know that her organization has alot of pull with some of the distributors that supply dealerships so maybe they can throw some weight around and get his products pulled since he obviously doesnt want to use or sell it anyways...

Here is a big thumb-up ( [thumbsup]) for all the people who were not thought by their parents to mind their own business and who don't think that stupidity should be ignored and who find time and will to deal with people like Jerry.

What a fun topic this turned out  [popcorn]

I agree.  Makes me feel good to be on this board with people who cares about safety and the right way to enjoy motorcycling.  Riding is not just about going fast and show off.

A big [thumbsup] to DLSGAP for escalating the issue.  Hopefully somebody can knock some sense into Jerry the owner.

i thought this would be good fodder.

As an owner of a company one would think that he would show responsible riding i his ad....one would think. It is idiots like JERRY THE OWNER that flaunt this behavior and then wonder why new laws are enacted forcing them to wear protective gear (you are bringing attention to this JERRY). I am not talking about riding down to the market it flip-flops, i wouldn't, i am talking about Deals Gap, and advertisement of such acts.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should advertise it.

I am by no means a business or legal expert but it just seems like bad juju and sheer stusquidity on Jerry the Owner's part to put this on his site.  I'm not a fortune teller either, but I picture somewhere in the future - one of his young squidly customers following his dealers examples, getting badly hurt, and then the family sueing the dealer for all he's worth because the kid was following the example of this "godfearing" "churchgoing" "I can do what I want don't bother me" dealer.   [bang]

+1 on the bad business sense.  Why not advertise the gear?  Does he just want to advertise what a squid he is?  Don't get it.  [bang]

Why is it that those that prove Darwin's Theories don't believe in them?

This is what I was thinking when I made my marketing sense comment above.  Show the gear and you'll sell some just on the "I wanna look like that guy" principle ~

Sad thing is, if he suffers really serious injuries, such as spinal problems, he'll max out his medical insurance for sure (assuming he has it). And who will be left holding the bag? Us, the taxpayers, will foot the bill for additional, absolutely necessary care. That's the rationale behind helmet laws. I've always thought that people who don't want to wear gear (and no, I don't believe anyone should FORCE them to) should have to sign a DNR (do not resuscitate) order when they get their mc license. Otherwise, we consistently defeat natural selection by keeping these morons alive to breed more morons.

Oh, and he might be ready to meet Jesus, but dying isn't the worst thing that can happen to you on a moto...

Just got in on this thread and i was absolutely SHOCKED when i went over to the dealer's website.  It boggles my mind that he would show those pictures and advertise a complete lack of gear.  He owes me tax money for those 2 rehabs he had already!
