Yea, I know it's loud, so as I travel through the neighborhoods, I tend to be very light with the throttle.  There's another very easy way (just a parallel street that goes right by the police station oddly enough) that only takes about another 60 seconds to travel so I'll probably avoid him.   Or...  I could drive my truck.  It's stereo is as loud as Molly  *smack* bad JM

My wife has been looking at property down there and if it's ever a real thing I was thinking that I could toss you a couple bucks just to pass by and make sure that there are no squatters.
Finances suck right now so don't expect this to happen anytime soon if at all though.
The baddest ass property I saw was 72 acres with 1800' of frontage on Fontana Lake, 4.5 mil though.

I just can't wait for a good excuse to come down and run the GTI through some of your fine roads, every property I saw her looking at seemed to be right off RT 28.

There's probably a lot of stuff available near 28 that's still affordable.  Haywood County (where I live, Waynesville, NC is the seat) is insane.  There's 16 acres behind a lot I own listed for something like $800,000 and it's very steep IMO, difficult to maintain roads & such on.

We're thinking more along the lines of stuff like 1.5 acres for 33k. For now it would be a place to camp out when we come down there, eventually turning into having a small house on the property. I'm supporting too many other households to swing a payment on a 800k loan.

Yea, $800,000 is a bit spendy.  That's really about 2-3 times what it's actually worth.  What you're looking for is possible though
