Evening here now too! The sun finally came out.  I did laundry and watched Senna on Netflix. That crash looked wicked.

been a nasty line of storms running across PA for half the day
just getting here now but like usual with the west to east storms, the part that will hit here is weakening
we only seem to get really strong ones if they come in from a different direction

I'm coughing and aching and feeling cold.... even though I'm burning trees faster than Casey Jones.

But otherwise all's well  :)

Did George get the hay bailed up and in the shed before it rained?

He did...and it did not rain. [bang]

It wasn't as dry as he'd have liked, but wasn't worth the chance of leaving it overnight. The bales were heavy.

He's going to salt it which will pull some moisture out. It won't be around long anyway...

His real motivation was being completely out of hay. ;)

Normally an early green cut would be wrapped for silage, no?

I'm sure he's aware of the risks of storing damp hay bales.....

Yup...he knows.

The largest danger is when you stack them into a pile so the inside of the pile heats up.

He can store them relatively flat as the barn is empty.

The addition of the salt should handle it
