Supposed to rain here too.
been a nasty line of storms running across PA for half the day just getting here now but like usual with the west to east storms, the part that will hit here is weakening we only seem to get really strong ones if they come in from a different direction |

He did...and it did not rain.  It wasn't as dry as he'd have liked, but wasn't worth the chance of leaving it overnight. The bales were heavy. He's going to salt it which will pull some moisture out. It won't be around long anyway... His real motivation was being completely out of hay.  |

I'm sure he's aware of the risks of storing damp hay bales.....
...or a product they call baleage. Yup...he knows. The largest danger is when you stack them into a pile so the inside of the pile heats up. He can store them relatively flat as the barn is empty. The addition of the salt should handle it |

Yup. Stick a crowbar in there and leave it for a while....  Seems like theres a hay shed fire almost every year..... So if it didnt rain, did you house build? |
