My closest friend and I have a standard saying that we occasionally shout out - or post or text as an acronym when something goes awry:  OFFS (Oh For make the beast with two backs's Sake).

And "OFFS" is exactly what came to mind reading your post Rat.  So sorry you have to deal with this but as the others mentioned, we're all more than happy to ride this crazy train with you - just sorry it has to be electronically.

Wishing that big juicy burger for you after a fast and full recovery!

Hugs (whether you want them or not).   ;)

In my world it is now 5:00 on Friday! ;D [beer]
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Thanks Guys all hugs, good thoughts and prayers accepted

Worst case I will keep this amusing and show you how Harrisons walk the plank

best case we have an amusing chapter in the Life of Rat

I was speaking with my wife last night she asked me if I am afraid.....I said no....and I explained why......

I told her I got up at 2 am about 6-9 months ago

half asleep, half awake...I felt my departed father, my sister and my beloved godmother in the room with me

I smiled and wondered why they were there, said a silent "hi" and went down for the coffee wondering why they were ganging up on me

over the years they have come and gone, little stop-ins in my life....always individually, never collectively

no conversations or magical/fantastical shit,,,,,, just the undisputed knowledge that what I am feeling is their presence, their love,,,coming from the essence of their departed souls

it is hard to describe...it is external to me, not imaginary.....it is like a scentless perfume whose sweet aroma you immediately recognize, distinct with the pure character of their being and the unique warmth of their love delivered with a clarity and immediacy that one's imagination or memory could never generate

sometimes they have come in crisis, sometimes in the gentle quiet moments that life sometimes tosses our way

never all 3 at once....jeez I wish they had spoken a little louder :-)

anyway I explained this to my wife and how I have no question whatsoever that there is an "other side" to the other side

I don't get wrapped around the axle with foolish notions of the afterlife...It is all a guess, but I do know what my senses have given me about things external to me, both tangible and intangible

I don't subscribe to heaven or hell or any such notions

but I do subscribe to the idea that our entities can manifest and we will unite with those who went before us

it is all energy, physics, just at a level we cannot divine or fathom and perhaps never will

but I told my wife I am unshaken in my belief that when this is over

something new awaits on the other side and it would only make sense that we all are met by our loved ones

she smiled and said that she understood how that sense of the future could be a comfort

I told her I worry much more about the people I eventually will be leaving in this place more than I fret over where I'm headed

so anyway, my advice is to discover, invent or subscribe to a belief system that will carry you through the hardest and most beautiful days of your life

because the illusion of control and normalcy we all harbor is just that, an illusion....we live life on life's term

no matter what we would otherwise like to think  ;)
This is an insult to the Pez community

Well said.
I can't even write coherently about what I think, much less about how I feel.
Oh,and good luck.

evening . . .

RATT, cannot say "been there done that" I'm young for some, older for others, same age for other or just a crazy dude from Panama, but, when I feel at home I am home and DMF is like "a home within a home for me" and all of you are family . . .

Bick, where did you get a flux capacitor anti-photonic ionization de-multiplier black matter-quarz time machine?

yes it's 5:00PM on Thursday . . . unless . . .  you are in Stralia . . .and even there it would be like 0500~0700h . . .x

Cannot share that information with you.  If too many people start travelling through time it would pose serious risk of disrupting the space-time continuum.   Can't risk it.

Or maybe Nate's answer.

If you want to meet him you can modify these speakers that have a built in air flux gap, by insertin a capacitor into the gap and thereby have a working flux capacitor. As we all know a flux capacitor is crucial if you want to make your monster move faster than time itself...

Death. The last great adventure. One we all get to take. No matter what your beliefs, the wonderment of what is next never ceases to amaze me. I have often wondered if some go early just to see what is there. I wish a long and fruitful life for us all, but I, for one, cannot wait to see what all the fuss has been about.
