On another notr...

I'm almost done with the porch/sunroom roof.

I have two more weird cuts and a small piece...

and then the hip flashing and top closure strips.

Between the heat and doing it alone I can honestly say it sucked. ;D

You're going to like that sunroom later. specially if you did it so that it doesn't leak.

My sunroom roof leaks a little when the Ice melts. I guess it forces itself up under the steel roof. The roof is 1 1/2 in 12. otherwise it doesn't leak any other time.

Why do you have ice?

Insulation problem I'd guess.

1 1/2 in 12 is pretty shallow.

Metal roofing is only good for 3:12 or steeper

I get ice and snow up there during the winter and sometimes it hangs around for weeks or months.

feel weird without the dogs in the house . . . they're spending the night at the vet's, got neutered today and I preferred they spent the night over . ..  they'll be home tomorrow, hopefully, less pee around ???

That's no different than here.

It's why we don't build 1 pitch roofs.

East coast style rain here in Seattle and the burbs today!  We had a MSF basic rider class at work today. They rode in big pounding rain, sun, more rain, some hail, lightning, sun and more rain. All 10 students passed.

I drove home in it. Snow Cap in hand now  [beer]

Not really. Unless I built a gable roof right over the top of the room. I would have to check the engineering load to see if my roof would support another roof. Or just take the old roof off...

It's just a few drips and then it quits after the ice melts. It's been raining pretty hard off and on the last week and no leaks.
