I seem to wake up a little (or a lot) before 0500 everyday, even the weekends. 

Pork roast in the oven that comes out at 2030. It is for the rest of the week.     

Today and again tomorrow I am spend a few hours with one of our field consultants. We are doing some pre demolition asbestos and lead sampling. Today I did the paper work and labeled all the samples. Tomorrow I take the samples!

did you know that roast pork makes for a mean hash in the morning? or anytime, since hash and eggs are delicious

are you sampling, like, real asbestos?  I hate that stuff

I do the hash thing on the weekends. Breakfast during the week is a bowl of grape nuts or peanut butter on a slice of bread.

Real asbestos. The buildings we are sampling were built in the late 1950's. It will be interesting to see the lab results.

interesting, indeed, but I'd put my pennies on ACM... M? asbestos containing material?  it's been so long since I had a qual for that.

the building I work in finally got the asbestos siding removed a few years ago. since Pearl Harbor is a historical site, the history huggers make a big stink when you try to renovate. so when I started there, there was still lead paint on the ceiling and asbestos siding.

You got it! ACM = asbestos containing material and PACM is presumed ACM. It only has to be 1% asbestos to be ACM. We had 17 homogeneous sample areas for one small building. Tile, grout, mastic, window putty, pipe wrap, red brick and mortar, walls,  etc. There are 4 different buildings in the group to be demolished.

I will soon be signed off to teach the building inspector class, so getting some field work in is good.
