Almost 8pm out and it is still 90 outside! If you think Seattle summers are gloomy and full of rain, guess again. We have had record breaking heat, and 3 weeks of 80+ heat! 

I hope it cools down enough to sleep.

Had an interesting day!

Kids coming back into class after lunch. One Grade 5 boy is having his shoelaces tied for him!

I of course ask the obvious question 'Why isn't he tying his own laces?

Answer? 'I can't tie my own! My parents are impatient, so they just tie them for me each day!'

Couldn't believe it! SO, after school today, there I was teaching this kid to tie his laces!

Morning.  I managed to get a nasty cut from the mandolin slicer.  Took the very tip of a finger off.  That wasn't pleasant.

They are awesome for quickly slicing up veggies.  I was using mine without the guard because the potato didn't fit in it.  My cut is similar, but worse.  It took most of the evening to get the bleeding stopped.

Brekki was great, re-heated Mexican cornbread!
