There are some better than others. If you are flying Domestic in the US I like Southwest Airlines. The way the business is run is way better than most Airlines, and they are among the least expensive. That is due in part to the entire fleet consisting of 737's (one type of aircraft)
That model requires a bit less Training for aircrews & maint staff and a significantly reduced parts inventory. Compare that with United Airlines that flys just about everything in the Boeing fleet and also a few Airbus platforms.

Another good domestic airline is Jet Blue. Again they have one type of Aircraft. And a nice modern fairly efficeint operation. Both of Jet Blue and Southwest focus on customer service.
The only down fall to Jet Blue in that most flights go into and out of NYC. That probably works great for a good portion of the east coast population or for people that travel to NYC alot. But if you live on the west coast and you want to go to Phoenix for example, well it doesnt make much sense unless you like flying in airplanes.

One other thing that is cool about Jet Blue was that the CEO paid himself a salary of $200,000 a year, and he got out once or twice a month and worked on an airplane, maybe tossed bags, cleaned things up, passed out biscottis to the passengers and so fourth.

Thanks Dave.
I am looking at Domestic routes (and international to/from Canada)...
I only have AA as a benchmark....

I think both airlines serve some canadian cities.
But maybe not. I see Southwest goes to a few places in Mexico.

Did some quick searching and Calgary seemed to not be on the list...
Just playing with possible itineraries at this stage.....

A good point about snow and ice is that you can put your drink in it and have it nice & chilly.
