too much work for the available labor, nobody wants to do this anymore

Can you blame them?

It's either too cold, or too hot, or so buggy you end up hurting yourself swatting with a hammer, or raining and miserable, or you spend half the day shoveling snow so you can skate across a deck.

It's nice in the fall. ;D
